What is Firmary?
Firmary is practice management software for accounting, bookkeeping, and tax firms. It brings client work, engagements, billing, and communication into one platform, with configurable workflows, a client portal, and access through connected AI assistants.
Who is Firmary for?
Firmary is built for accounting, bookkeeping, and tax firms.
How do I get access?
Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when your firm can join.
What can connected AI assistants do?
Connected assistants can read and update information and carry out actions in Firmary. Staff and clients use their own account permissions.
Do we have to use AI?
No. Your team can do all of its work directly in Firmary. An administrator can turn off AI assistant access for the whole firm, allow only certain apps, or limit what each connection can reach and do.
Do clients need to install an app?
No. Clients use the portal in a web browser on a computer or phone, and can add it to their phone’s home screen. Your firm invites each client, who verifies their email address and sets a password. For a single request, a client can also respond from an emailed link after entering a one-time code, without signing in to the portal.
Which tools can I connect?
Clients pay invoices through Stripe. Staff and clients can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude, through Firmary’s MCP server. Your own software can read and update records through the API and receive webhooks when events occur in Firmary.
What does it replace, and can we keep our accounting and tax tools?
Firmary replaces the separate tools around client work: portal logins, document requests by email, intake forms, task lists, message threads, proposals, e-signing, and invoicing. Your general ledger and tax preparation software stay where they are.
What can I import?
You can import clients, tasks, and time entries from CSV files. You map the columns and review which rows will be imported, which have problems, and which are duplicates before anything is created. Importing clients doesn’t invite them. Documents, messages, engagements, and billing history aren’t imported.
What can I export?
Staff with the matching permission can export clients, client contacts, tasks, time entries, aged receivables, and the audit log as CSV files, and download documents as a ZIP file. A firm owner can export the whole firm as a ZIP file of CSV files and documents.
How is client data protected?
Every upload is scanned for viruses before anyone can open it, and infected files are quarantined. Each firm’s data is kept separate, access follows staff roles and client assignments, and sensitive actions are recorded in an audit log. Owners and admins must use multi-factor sign-in. The security page has the details.
