Use Firmary with Claude
Connector guide · firmary.app
What it does
The Firmary connector lets Claude work with your firm’s practice data from a conversation: clients and contacts, document requests and uploads, invoices and payments, engagements, tasks and deadlines, time entries, messages, and reports. Claude can look things up, summarize them, and, when you ask, take actions such as creating a task or sending a reminder.
Claude only ever acts as you. It sees and does exactly what your Firmary account is allowed to, within the limits your firm sets for AI apps. Firmary is pre-launch; the connector is available to firms using Firmary today.
Before you connect
- A Firmary staff account at your firm.
- Your firm allows Claude. A firm administrator turns this on in Firmary under Admin → Integrations → Agent access → Firm connection policy.
- A Claude account on any plan that supports connectors.
Connect Claude to Firmary
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and find Firmary in the directory. If it isn’t listed for you yet, choose Add custom connector and enter
https://os.firmary.app/api/mcp. - Select Connect. Claude opens Firmary’s sign-in page; sign in with your Firmary account as usual, including multi-factor authentication if your firm requires it.
- Review the access screen. It shows which firm you are connecting, what Claude will be able to reach, and how long the connection lasts. Approve it to finish.
- Ask Claude something about your practice. Try “List my Firmary capabilities” to see what your account can do.
Things to ask
- “Which of my clients still owe documents for this year's return?”
- “Show invoices more than 60 days past due, grouped by client.”
- “What's on my work queue this week, and what's overdue?”
- “Summarize the last conversation with Harbor Street Bakery.”
- “Create a task to review the Nguyen household's 1099s, due Friday, assigned to me.”
- “Draft a reminder to clients with open document requests.”
Client names above are fictional examples.
How reading and changing data works
The connector has separate tools for reading and for changing data. Lookups, summaries, and reports use read-only tools, which never create, change, send, or delete anything. Anything that changes data, such as creating a task, sending an invoice, or messaging a client, uses a separate tool, and Claude asks for your confirmation before it runs.
Firmary applies your firm’s rules on top of that. Sensitive actions, such as voiding an invoice or changing someone’s role, can require your approval on a Firmary page or a fresh sign-in before they run, and some actions can be blocked for AI apps entirely. Refunds, API keys, passwords, and client EINs are handled in Firmary itself, never through Claude; ask for a client’s EIN and Claude gives you a link to that client in Firmary. Every change made through Claude is recorded in your firm’s audit log.
Manage or disconnect
You can see and revoke your own connection in Firmary under Settings → Agent access, or remove Firmary in Claude under Customize → Connectors.
Firm administrators can see every connected AI app, limit what each profile can do, and suspend or revoke connections under Admin → Integrations → Agent access.
Privacy and support
Firmary sends Claude only the results of the requests it makes on your behalf and does not receive your conversations. See the privacy policy and security overview. For help, contact [email protected].
